FTP2Web v1.0 User's Guide |
Contents
The file exchange mechanism is realised by means of creation of folders which will be accessible to other users. After a log into the application, you get to your User control panel in which all folders accessible to you are presented. Your personal folders, and all folders assigned on groups into which your account belongs are accessible. You can view contents of accessible folders, add there new files or delete files therefrom and lock contents of folders for exclusive usage.

Folder actions
To access the folder data, click
Open button. A new window
of your browser will be opened, in which you can perform operations with files and
directories (what operations are available depends on your browser). You also can
use any FTP client for access folder data. For this purpose you should open once
at least the folder from the application as described above. Access to folders is
limited to IP addresses, and when you open folder from the aplication your address
is added in the allowed list (therefore at access from other address it should be
repeated). Further copy path to the FTP directory from the browser address bar,
specify it in your FTP client and work with the folder without logging into the
application.
You can create new folders to organize file exchange with other users. To create
a new folder, click
New folder. In the appeared panel specify folder name,
its description and the owner - the group to which members you wish to give access
to the data, containing in this folder. (You also can specify yourself then it will
be your personal folder, and nobody except you can work with it). At last you can
set option "Conceal FTP directory name", in this case the consealed name
of the FTP directory (like "a172d31e-13a2-4be1-8341-9a1282190ba3") will
be generated. It is more safe, and as guarantees constant path of the directory, even at name
change.
